It has good commuter links as Hilton is just off the A50 and handy for A38, 30 mins M6, 20mins Nottingham East Midlands Airport and about 40mins Birmingham Airport! Hilton is quite a large village as in the last couple of years a lot of newbuild and will complete late 2007 early 2008 and is a very pleasant, traditional but modern village, which boasts good schools (hence everyone wanting to move here) a small Tesco, Post Office, Village Hall, Chip Shop, Chinese/Indian delivery, well known car dealership, Beauty Salons, Hotels (caberet evenings),B & B's, about 6 pubs, sporting fields, tennis courts,parks, vets docters etc etc Plenty of City Life & Night Clubs, Bars etc in Derby and links to others! A good Docters Surgery and Pharmacy! (never crowded) good medical support links! Hospitals A&E 10mins! If you like walking/cycling, quite a lot of routes for either! Fishing! About 4 miles away a small aerodrome for flying lessons. Horse Riding! Ski Centre about 40 mins away! Boating! Something for everyone the list is endless! Buses are regular and often to Burton and Derby and close by Hatton, Etwall, Tutbury and Uttoxeter! Train Stations: Hatton, Tutbury, Uttoxeter, Burton On Trent, Derby! We moved to Hilton 5 years ago and our street had only just been completed then. To the front of the bungalow the street appears spacious as there is an additional large square drive/turning area shared by 3 others and we are situated at the end of a no through street. A small open plan fore garden with a postage stamp size lawn and next to a double driveway with side gate off to Canopied Side Entrance of bungalow and rear Pro/Landscaped medium garden! Most of the front of the bungalow is Canopied (white) and all looks new and neat! There are about 38 plots in this L shaped street 3 of which are bungalows (2 semi, 1 detached) the rest semi, detached and terraced houses, all being new and situated on the edge of a private new estate. All front gardens are well maintained by H.A. or if prefered by tenant! Our rear garden (square shaped), after a lot of hard work is pretty private, fenced with Laurel and Red Robina hedging planted around the limits of the medium sized garden, now grown to about 5' at sides and young 3' at rear 6' fence, professionally landscaped on 2 levels, separated by sleepers (integrated led lights along) and 2 steps to above patio area and small garden. The patios both being the full width of bungalow are very child friendly and the garden being extremely low maintenance. Presently we have 2 upvc 6' sheds to the side on the lower patio area, that still makes the patio a good size and the sheds appear unobtrusive! Good spacious patio for those who like BBQ evenings with guests! Internally decorated throughout with cream walls, white ceilings, doors and skirtings with silver ironmongery! Newly decoratation completed end March 2007 with same colours!! Altogether a very, pleasant modern bungalow! Neighbours predominately young family and a couple of middle aged with grown children. All in all a very quiet street! A perfect place for two adults or family alike! Make no mistake, this is a nice area and a nice village with a mix of old architecture to one side and completely new on the other side! We being on the new side! People take care of their homes and the surrounding streets with pride, of low crime rate, with lots to do if you are a sociable person without anyone being in your pocket! Your privacy is respected! The best of both worlds from "country pursuits to city modern living pursuits!" Hello Sue, We are open to any coast locations , coast town, coast city but not remote areas of coast as we need to be close to doctors etc...the closer to the sea the better, ideally walking distance!
