The village is wealthy, with green, and thatch and very horsey, still have honesty boxes outside peoples houses when they sell their own fruit and veg. We are non estate, on a small private leafy cul de sac of detached and semi detached house. We have a 1bed flat, 1 of 6 only that were built privately 10years ago for villagers over 60. The age restriction now is over 50 but for people mutual exchanging there is no age limit. We moved here 3years ago and are in our early 40s, everyone here is over 50. Very peaceful place, flats look expensive and private. We have magnolia décor, OSP, DG, no party walls with neighbours so no TV noise, lovely neighbours all of whom have lived here since the flats were given to social housing, entire loft space above flat with pull down loft ladder, bath/shower, large light windows with countryside views. Large communal gardens which are beautifully planted with fruit trees etc HA takes care of the garden. We are 10mins to central Colchester, 10mins to Mersea Island and its beach and fish restaurants, 30mins to Clacton on Sea. We are 15mins from the Suffolk border.
