HAVE:
we have a pleasant two bedroom council flat with balcony, in deptford, south east london. there are communal green spaces either side of the red brick, 4 storey block. double-glazing and gas central heating (gas and electric on key meters). brand new kitchen bathroom and toilet. loads of light and sky views (3rd floor)... we love this place, just need to get out of the city now the family are grown and left home.
deptford is a vibrant multi-cultural community, with loads of history. it has been a very deprived area, but is going through extensive social and economic developments. it's a real mix of people in the community... river/train commuters, students, artists, musicians, dancers and actors, builders and shopkeepers. lots of local character/characters...
deptford is 5 min walk from a prestigious, international university, 'goldsmiths' and, 5 mins in the other direction, you'll find yourself at 'the laban', another internationally renowned establishment (dance school). local schools, pubs and cuisine. a local community theatre, 'the albany', a brand new swimming pool/library. there's a local market that sets up atleast twice a week. art galleries, coffee shops, iceland and international produce are all available on the high street. a very large sainsburys is walkable in 15mins. it is a 10 min walk to the thames, 15 to greenwich (a bus will get you there in 2mins (depending on time/traffic)... london bridge is one stop on the overline train... deptford is very close to all forms of london transport (bus/train/tube/DLR)
WANT:
we are looking for a two or more bedroom council or housing association property with a private balcony or a garden, similar to this, only in the west country/wiltshire/avon/somerset/surrounding areas, swindon maybe? (as close to silbury hill as possible)....
there must be a walkable local bus service and your property is damp-free please (we don't mind simple decorating if necessary).
